Guest Blogger: Lauren Ferguson on Her Childhood Creativity

by Sudie on November 3, 2009

Lauren Ferguson, mixed media artist everything alteredI am not the typical artistic designer. I never enjoyed crafting as a child. This is not to say that I did not grow up in a crafty home. I clearly remember as a child watching Carol Duvall, Julia Child and the Galloping Gourmet on PBS.

I did not find out that I had an artistic gene until I was 40 years old raising a toddler and pregnant with twin boys.

I am a eco-conscious/green/environmentally friendly designer. I recycle, up-cycle, repurpose, reuse, reduce and pick through the trash. I will never be a fine artist. The tag line on my blog reads: “There are no mistakes in art, just opportunities to embellish.”

My, for me the devil is in the details. I am a left brained woman having extraordinary right brain experiences.

until we meet again,
